My name is Dr. Brandy Pidermann and I am the founder of Changing Tides Therapy. I am a licensed psychotherapist and clinical social worker with over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and families in multiple settings. I earned my Doctor of Social Work degree from Florida Atlantic University, my Master of Social Work degree from Barry University, and my Bachelor of Science in Social Work degree from Florida International University. I offer private psychotherapy sessions in addition to clinical supervision and consultation services. I am committed to providing high-quality care and services to clients and families that focus on improving their social-emotional functioning and enhance their overall mood and well-being. Using theoretical and empirical evidence to promote healthy behaviors, improved functioning, and optimal coping is my goal when working with clients and families. Emotional healing starts inward and helping people navigate life and complex challenges continues to motivate my work. Working collaboratively to identify healthy and sustainable practices and strategies to improve client and families’ lives are important elements in my practice. In addition to my clinical work, I have contributed to the growing research and professional literature in suicide prevention among school-aged youth. I have both developed and consulted on proposals and strategic plans that offer support to clients and families in the community and in educational and healthcare systems. I have taught clinical social work courses at the College of Social Work and Criminal Justice at Florida Atlantic University and regularly supervise registered clinical social work interns in Florida helping them pursue licensure. On my down time I enjoy writing and developing reading material and enrichment activities influenced by my clinical encounters as a way to provide additional support and promote healthy practices among children and families.
